PASA House Concert Series

One of the longest running house concert series in the Philadelphia Area, for more than 20 years, PASA has presented its members in a true house concert setting. Since its creation by Rob Lincoln in 2000, more than 150 different performers have performed as a co-headliner.

Each concert features three PASA members as co-headliners, plus 8 to 12 "Open Chair" performers. Anyone who wants to play an original song can be an Open Chair performer. These shows are in round robin format, one song at a time and the Open Chair slots not only begin the show but also occur at the end of every round. There are usually seven rounds with an intermission in the middle.

NOTE: Doors open 30 minutes before concert start time. Please arrive early so we can start on time!

Performers:

Heidi Wolfson and Neal Phillips

Heidi Wolfson is known for the range of her songwriting and the intensity of her live performance. She is also a co-chair of PASA and a very active member of PFS/MAC, as well as Philly's Songwriters' Circle. She is joined tonight by Neal Philips. Heidi Wolfson and Neal Phillips are familiar to fans of CubiZm, the renowned Philly folk/rock band. As a duo, Heidi and Neal play acoustic arrangements of Heidi's songs that allow Heidi's lyrics and the duo's subtle harmonies to shine through. Heidi Wolfson's songs have been covered by well over 50 people. Neal is also an accomplished multi-instrumentalist who has played for dozens of community theater musicals in Philadelphia.

Kathy Quinn

Kathy Quinn is a Philadelphia-area songwriter, guitarist, and performer. She is honored to be a member of the Philadelphia Folksong Society Musical Artists Cooperative and the Philadelphia Area Songwriters Alliance. In 2025, she released her debut album, "Next 7 Miles", a stylistically diverse collection of original songs exhibiting lyrical honesty and a wide range of emotional color. She is influenced by traditional and contemporary folk, blues, and classic country. She is an engaging and witty performer who brings her background in theater and improv comedy to her stage presentation. Kathy was especially delighted to play as a "pop-up" performer at the 2025 Philadelphia Folk Festival.

Nathan Surles

Nathan Surles comes from Wilmington, Delaware. His guitar style blends a unique classical and folk derived fingerpicking with some percussive strumming. Vocally, he blends dark soft tones to match the guitar. The songs he writes are stories of contemplation, mantras, and invocations. Before moving to the Philadelphia region he spent time in the singer/songwriter circles of Kentucky and the college scenes of Virginia.
You: The fourth performer can be YOU! The first eight (or so) performers to sign up at the show will sing one original song as part of the concert. This is an extra special OPEN STAGE SHOWCASE OPPORTUNITY, so bring along any instruments you'll want to play. The first people to arrive get to sign up first. The open stage slots often fill up, so come early to get a slot.
