PASA House Concert Series

One of the longest running house concert series in the Philadelphia Area, for more than 20 years, PASA has presented its members in a true house concert setting. Since its creation by Rob Lincoln in 2000, more than 150 different performers have performed as a co-headliner.

Each concert features three PASA members as co-headliners, plus 8 to 12 "Open Chair" performers. Anyone who wants to play an original song can be an Open Chair performer. These shows are in round robin format, one song at a time and the Open Chair slots not only begin the show but also occur at the end of every round. There are usually seven rounds with an intermission in the middle.

Performers:

Liz Miller

Don't let the New Jersey accent fool you. Maybe it's Granny's Kentucky DNA mixed with an urban sensibility that helps Liz Miller slip in and out of Roots Rock, Folk, and Americana with native ease. The gravel in Liz's deep voice would suggest a world weariness yet her songs range from fun to awkward to profound. Liz is an award-winning songwriter with placements in film, TV, and Ads. After years of writing for other artists, she was encouraged to pursue a solo career as a singer-songwriter and her first CD "A Little Life" won her Best New Artist for the Hometown Heroes Homie Awards sponsored by Delaware Public Radio. Liz is the East coast half of the The Xconditionals, a female fronted, high energy, righteous attitude Alt-Rock band based in Southern California.

Avi Wisnia

Award-winning singer-songwriter Avi Wisnia presents an eclectic mix of refreshingly original songs and inventive covers, finding inspiration in Brazilian bossa nova, acoustic American folk, 1950's west-coast jazz, and contemporary pop. Avi's clever lyrics give a knowing nod to his contemporaries, while his smooth vocals and deft piano skills assure you that this is truly something new. Avi tours in support of his debut album, "Something New", performing in prestigious venues around the world -- from the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City to The Kennedy Center in Washington DC to concerts in Warsaw, Poland, and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. His latest single "Sky Blue Sky" was recorded via satellite between Philadelphia and Brazil, winning recognition from the Philadelphia Songwriters Project and MidAtlantic Songwriters Competition. In addition to being a performing songwriter, Avi Wisnia has also given a TED talk and performed with The Moth storytellers.

You: The fourth performer can be YOU! The first eight (or so) performers to sign up at the show will sing one original song as part of the concert. This is an extra special OPEN STAGE SHOWCASE OPPORTUNITY, so bring along any instruments you'll want to play. The first people to arrive get to sign up first. The open stage slots often fill up, so come early to get a slot.
