PASA House Concert Series

One of the longest running house concert series in the Philadelphia Area, for more than 20 years, PASA has presented its members in a true house concert setting. Since its creation by Rob Lincoln in 2000, more than 150 different performers have performed as a co-headliner.

Each concert features three PASA members as co-headliners, plus 8 to 12 "Open Chair" performers. Anyone who wants to play an original song can be an Open Chair performer. These shows are in round robin format, one song at a time and the Open Chair slots not only begin the show but also occur at the end of every round. There are usually seven rounds with an intermission in the middle.

Performers:

Andrea Green

An award-winning playwright, composer, lyricist, musical director, professional jazz pianist/ vocal stylist, and credentialed music therapist, Andrea Green will be the first to tell you that her prolific creative portfolio flows directly from her core belief that music can be a healing art.
Andrea Green enjoys national acclaim for decades of work creating appealing, Broadway-style musicals for children and family audiences. And there's a unique signature to those shows. Written to be performed by children and teens, they all have wonderfully memorable tunes, a variety of easy-to-sing roles and they deliver important, heartfelt messages on themes of tolerance, understanding, friendship, and respect. This successful Philadelphia-area theater artist has created nine classic, children's musicals and fourteen overall.
Andrea's work as a composer and music therapist is the subject of the one hour documentary ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FENCE, produced by MIND.TV of Philadelphia and award-winning film maker Henry Nevison, to be aired in the fall of 2013.

Marc Kaye

Marc Kaye is a singer-songwriter from the Philadelphia area who has been writing music since junior high school. His passion is the piano and tunes that grab you with their lyrical intent while hooking you with a simple but memorable memory. Often autobiographical in nature, Marc's songs border on the confessional and pick up on themes of love, loss, and the emotional DNA of the vulnerability of human relationships. In addition to songwriting, Marc is also a writer and stand-up comedian (though you'd never guess from his music!).

Janet Sclaroff

"I am my dreams!" This sums up the spirit of Janet Sclaroff. Janet is a music and movement teacher who has extended her audience from the classroom to the stage. With guitar in hand, she writes upbeat, rhythmic music that gets everyone singing, clapping, and dancing. Some of her songs are written for kids, but according to Janet's grownup fans, her music is wonderful for all ages. She is active in the Children's Music Network, Children's Entertainment Association, and NARAS, as well as being one of PASA's most frequent and genial hosts. Janet is filled with enthusiasm and idealism, and she transmits this to her audience.
You: The fourth performer can be YOU! There will be 12 performers chosen for open chair slots who will each sing one original song as part of the concert. This is an extra special OPEN STAGE SHOWCASE OPPORTUNITY. The first 8 people to RSVP on Facebook will be guaranteed an open chair slot. The remaining 4 slots will be chosen randomly from those RSVPing by email. (Please indicate that you want an open chair slot when sending your RSVP.)
NOTE: If you are chosen for any of 12 open chair slots, you must join the Zoom meeting at 7:05 PM for sound check.
