PASA House Concert Series

One of the longest running house concert series in the Philadelphia Area, for more than 20 years, PASA has presented its members in a true house concert setting. Since its creation by Rob Lincoln in 2000, more than 150 different performers have performed as a co-headliner.

Each concert features three PASA members as co-headliners, plus 8 to 12 "Open Chair" performers. Anyone who wants to play an original song can be an Open Chair performer. These shows are in round robin format, one song at a time and the Open Chair slots not only begin the show but also occur at the end of every round. There are usually seven rounds with an intermission in the middle.

Black Dress Jess

Black Dress Jess is a doctoral psychology student by day and a budding musician by night. Hailing from Reisterstown, MD, her musical journey began after a significant personal loss in 2009. Using lyrics and a unique percussive guitar style that have been frequently described as "intense" and "powerful", she explores a broad range of human experiences and emotions, from existential crises to budding relationships. Her main influences include Baltimore-area musicians Rob Hinkal and Heather Aubrey Lloyd of ilyAIMY. Black Dress Jess has been a featured performer at the Baltimore Folk Music Society open mic, and she recently played at DripFest 2013 and Father Folk 2013 this past summer.

Tony DeSantis

Tony DeSantis was first known for his renditions of Stan Rogers's songs but he writes some wicked political and wonderful historical songs of his own. An entertaining performer and multi-instrumentalist, Tony is famous for "DeSantisizing" other people's songs. He has performed at clubs in Boston, New York, Toronto, Vancouver, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and London, UK. He has also produced two CDs, entitled Bright Red Sky and Across the Border. In addition, Tony has taken up acting and performed in a number of local productions. He is currently the President of the Delaware Valley Association of Rail Passengers and is involved with Prison Ministry through Sacred Heart Church in Camden.

Wes Powers

Wes Powers plays piano, guitar, dulcimer, and a little banjo (unless he's bribed not to!). His lyric-driven songs cover a variety of subjects and moods. He is known for his humorous and oddly light-hearted songs, but also writes heartfelt emotional ones. His songs deal with unique subjects, ranging from quirks of language to geography lessons to malfunctioning spaceships. He can make you laugh with one song and cry with the next.

A four-time People's Choice winner, Wes has appeared on many stages around the Philadelphia area, as well as New York and West Virginia. He is based in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

You: The fourth performer can be YOU! The first eight (or so) performers to sign up at the show will sing one original song as part of the concert. This is an extra special OPEN STAGE SHOWCASE OPPORTUNITY, so bring along any instruments you'll want to play. The first people to arrive get to sign up first. The open stage slots often fill up, so come early to get a slot.
