PASA House Concert Series

One of the longest running house concert series in the Philadelphia Area, for more than 20 years, PASA has presented its members in a true house concert setting. Since its creation by Rob Lincoln in 2000, more than 150 different performers have performed as a co-headliner.

Each concert features three PASA members as co-headliners, plus 8 to 12 "Open Chair" performers. Anyone who wants to play an original song can be an Open Chair performer. These shows are in round robin format, one song at a time and the Open Chair slots not only begin the show but also occur at the end of every round. There are usually seven rounds with an intermission in the middle.

Performers:

Megan Cahill

As a former student at Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music, Megan McDonnell Cahill played and sang in the ensemble "Honkey Tonk Angels" before moving to Philadelphia thirteen years ago. At 45, she is finally ready to overcome self-doubt and do what she loves to do - write songs. Less than a year ago she reached out to PASA for support and inspiration. Since that time, Megan has attended more than a half dozen PASA events, always showing support and enthusiasm for her fellow songwriters. She has recorded two songs in the last few years and hopes to complete an album sometime in the future.

John Hudome

John Hudome is a singer-songwriter whose style crosses-over into blues, acoustic rock, country, and folk. John has performed in bands, duos, and trios over the years. He most enjoys the challenge of solo performing. John first performed solo at the age of 13 (he was too young to know he should have been scared). He hopes that his music is something that people can connect with and enjoy. John has dabbled in banjo, piano, and percussion, but his love has always been the guitar, especially acoustic.

Matthew Ryan

After becoming more active again in PASA this year, Matt is one of two performers this evening making their PASA houseconcert debut as a co-headliner. Who is Matt Ryan? Well he describes himself as an eternal student of the craft of songwriting and a professional chef cooking up a second act as a singer songwriter. You are likely to hear the influences of folk, blues, jazz, Irish, Bluegrass, and country in the service of a song.
You: The fourth performer can be YOU! There will be 12 performers chosen for open chair slots who will each sing one original song as part of the concert. This is an extra special OPEN STAGE SHOWCASE OPPORTUNITY. The first 8 people to RSVP on Facebook will be guaranteed an open chair slot. The remaining 4 slots will be chosen randomly from those RSVPing by email. (Please indicate that you want an open chair slot when sending your RSVP.)
NOTE: If you are chosen for any of 12 open chair slots, you must join the Zoom meeting at 7:05 PM for sound check.
