PASA House Concert Series

One of the longest running house concert series in the Philadelphia Area, for more than 20 years, PASA has presented its members in a true house concert setting. Since its creation by Rob Lincoln in 2000, more than 150 different performers have performed as a co-headliner.

Each concert features three PASA members as co-headliners, plus 8 to 12 "Open Chair" performers. Anyone who wants to play an original song can be an Open Chair performer. These shows are in round robin format, one song at a time and the Open Chair slots not only begin the show but also occur at the end of every round. There are usually seven rounds with an intermission in the middle.

Performers:

Benjamin Chandler

Blending fingerstyle and bluegrass flatpicking into his folk based songwriting, Benjamin Chandler combines his love of Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, and James Taylor with the guitar influences of Doc Watson and Jerry Reed. While many songs are introspective observations, others push outward with anthem-like choruses and breakneck guitar solos. Both solo and with his band, Sweet 66, Benjamin has performed around the Philadelphia area and is working on recording his music for future release.

Bob Mecklenburger

Bob Mecklenburger has been performing with his acoustic 6- and 12-string guitars for more 40 years, singing his original songs and folk songs. His clear voice, earnest presence, and fresh song-styling are reminiscent of John Denver. His music speaks of homespun values, the beauty of nature, and the importance of being true to oneself. Accomplished at flatpicking and fingerpicking guitar styles, he highlights both on his CD, "Do It!". Bob is an active member and past president of the Princeton Folk Music Society.
