Art Cohen

Art Cohen has been a fixture in the Philadelphia music scene for over 25 years as both a performer and audio engineer. He has performed at concert venues such as The Kyber, The CIMA Gatherings, Penn's Landing, The Gate, Toronto's Ambient Ping, Harrisburg's Whittaker Center, and Pittsburgh's Buhl Planetarium; and in live on-air concerts on WXPN, WPRB, WDIY, and WKDU. Best known as one half of the ambient space music duo Ministry of Inside Things (the other half being Chuck Van Zyl of Stars End), he will be performing a rare acoustic set of his original songs which can range from folk to psychedelic to punk.

Neal Phillips

Neal Phillips writes thought-provoking and (sometimes) funny songs that have been performed by Bob Zentz, Holly and Glenn Yarbrough, Steve Gillette and Cindy Mangsen, and Pete Seeger, among others. His writing touches on matters from the global significance of stackable chairs to the life and times of Roy G. Biv; from Claude Debussy and Claude Monet dancing in the moonlight to the quiet joys of walking home on a snowy midwinter evening. Neal's songs have won the USA Songwriting Competition and the Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Contest and have been featured on The Midnight Special, The Folk Sampler, Dr. Demento's Basement Tapes, and in Sing Out! Magazine. Neal has released eight solo CDs, most recently "Home Place" (2018) and "The Wit Album" (2015). He is also a member of Trifolkal, a Virginia based folk trio that recently released their "Silver" album celebrating 25 years together.

Steve Quelet

If you've ever been kidnapped by aliens, been chased by a carload of zombies, or spent any time in concrete overshoes, you may find yourself smack in the middle of a Steve Quelet song. Steve's songs have gained airplay and recognition in the Americana and Contemporary Folk communities for his unusual approach to both time worn and current subjects. His often powerful and humorous songs and stories create a vivid look at life's underbelly, and reveal some important lessons along the way.
Steve will be joined by Eppie Bailey for a special duo performance. Eppie, a wonderful singer-songwriter in her own right, and longtime song collaborator of Steve's is a former bandmate with the Jakobís Hollow Band. Following a long hiatus to pursue other ventures, they feel the time may be right to see if they still have the old team magic!
You: The fourth performer can be YOU! The first eight (or so) performers to sign up at the show will sing one original song as part of the concert. This is an extra special OPEN STAGE SHOWCASE OPPORTUNITY, so bring along any instruments you'll want to play. Doors open at 7. The first people to arrive get to sign up first. The open stage slots often fill up, so come early to get a slot.
