PASA House Concert Series

One of the longest running house concert series in the Philadelphia Area, for more than 20 years, PASA has presented its members in a true house concert setting. Since its creation by Rob Lincoln in 2000, more than 150 different performers have performed as a co-headliner.

Each concert features three PASA members as co-headliners, plus 8 to 12 "Open Chair" performers. Anyone who wants to play an original song can be an Open Chair performer. These shows are in round robin format, one song at a time and the Open Chair slots not only begin the show but also occur at the end of every round. There are usually seven rounds with an intermission in the middle.

Performers:

Tom Cooney

Tom Cooney is a dynamic singer-songwriter, guitarist, and music instructor from Greater Philadelphia. He performs original and cover music in Contemporary Folk, Blues, and Jazz styles. Tom is a versatile musician with strong vocal and guitar skills. His original songs range from the romantic to the political to the philosophical. Tom has performed at songwriter showcases, including at the famed club Godfrey Daniels, and the Martin Guitar Songwriters’ Showcase ArtsFest. He also performs in duo and trio groups, including the Acoustic Blues Project, a trio that has opened the Lehigh River Blues Jam and Jamaggedon festivals, respectively. He loves to share his music with audiences large and small, and always connects in a direct and warm style. Tom also teaches guitar, music theory, and composition, privately and at music camps.

Ingrid Heldt

Ingrid Heldt began performing long before she could read. Her father, a sound engineer, took her along to sporting, political, and social events, where she'd always end up in front of the mike, singing. She wrote her first song in 1974, and she has written and translated songs for other singers and commercials for companies such as Volkswagen. Ingrid's voice has a soothing, healing quality and has been described as "somewhere between Enya, Sarah McLachlan, Charlotte Church, and Joan Baez."

Richard Hunt

Sometimes funny, sometimes poignant, but always engaging, Richard Hunt has a rough hewn but completely genuine style of folk and blues. Playing both guitar and Dobro, the former Philadelphian is coming all the way from West Virginia. The least you can do is travel from somewhere nearby to come see him!
You: The fourth performer can be YOU! The first eight (or so) performers to sign up at the show will sing one original song as part of the concert. This is an extra special OPEN STAGE SHOWCASE OPPORTUNITY, so bring along any instruments you'll want to play. The first people to arrive get to sign up first. The open stage slots often fill up, so come early to get a slot.
