PASA House Concert Series

One of the longest running house concert series in the Philadelphia Area, for more than 20 years, PASA has presented its members in a true house concert setting. Since its creation by Rob Lincoln in 2000, more than 150 different performers have performed as a co-headliner.

Each concert features three PASA members as co-headliners, plus 8 to 12 "Open Chair" performers. Anyone who wants to play an original song can be an Open Chair performer. These shows are in round robin format, one song at a time and the Open Chair slots not only begin the show but also occur at the end of every round. There are usually seven rounds with an intermission in the middle.

Performers:

Cubizm

CubiZm is a Philadelphia-based band. They have been playing in Pennsylvania and New Jersey listening venues, such as The Living Room, The Tin Angel, and University of Pennsylvania's Rotunda, since 1996. Heidi Wolfson, Art Cohen, and Steve Lessick bring acoustic and electric guitars, drums, and vocal harmonies together in a way that showcases their original songs. Heidi Wolfson's songs are thought-provoking and literate, and she delivers them with intensity. Guitarist Art Cohen, known widely in international space-music circles, adds texture and edge which gives the group its Cubist feel. Steve Lessick's tasteful drumming and beautiful vocal harmonies smooth out the sound with polish. From a whisper to a roar, the music of CubiZm is always compelling. CubiZm has recently released their third CD, Grays in the Rain. It is available on itunes, Apple Music, CD-Baby, and Amazon.

Dolores Magro

Dolores Magro is a singer/songwriter in the traditional Americana style, blending folk, country, and bluegrass. Her major influences are Lucinda Williams, John Prine, and Gillian Welch. From 2004 through 2006, she participated in the 4-day jam camp at Merlefest in North Carolina, the third year earning the designation "Jam Hero". Dolores is a frequent volunteer at Philadelphia hospitals through WXPN’s Musicians On Call program, bringing the healing power of music to the bedsides of patients. Since 2009, she has performed over 120 Musicians on Call programs.

Tim LaBorie

After Tim LaBorie heard Dylan perform in 1964 he went to a pawnshop and bought a guitar. With his musical roots in early folk, blues, and old time country music, Tim evolved into writing songs and playing his own music. His songs are sometimes deeply personal, always good storytelling, and they are honest and true to human emotion.
Over the past several years he has been spending half his life in northern Nova Scotia where, with a new group of musician friends, he plays community halls and farmers' markets.
At the beginning of the COVID lockdown Tim knew he needed a project and began recording his third album, this one in his home studio. The professionally mastered album "Just Where You Are" was released in 2021.
