PASA House Concert Series

One of the longest running house concert series in the Philadelphia Area, for more than 20 years, PASA has presented its members in a true house concert setting. Since its creation by Rob Lincoln in 2000, more than 150 different performers have performed as a co-headliner.

Each concert features three PASA members as co-headliners, plus 8 to 12 "Open Chair" performers. Anyone who wants to play an original song can be an Open Chair performer. These shows are in round robin format, one song at a time and the Open Chair slots not only begin the show but also occur at the end of every round. There are usually seven rounds with an intermission in the middle.

Fishcastle

FishCastle is a duo featuring Catherine Braik Selin and Cyril Everett Caster.

Vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Catherine Braik Selin has written an impressive library of songs in a wide range of styles. She is well known for her ingenious accompaniments in open tunings on the guitar, as well as for playing the banjo, bass, ukulele, and recorders. Catherine has performed individually, with FishCastle, and with numerous choirs both regionally and abroad.

Cyril Everett Caster has recorded as a featured performer or sideman on several major recording labels playing the guitar, trumpet, French horn, alto horn, flute, vocal, piano, organ, and melodica. He has recorded or performed live with many people, including Big Joe Williams, Allen Ginsberg, Bruce Mackay, Elvin Jones, Bob Dorough, Don Cherry, The Family, Pete Seeger, David Blue, Eric Anderson, Nico, and Colin Wolcott. He has written over 200 songs and major compositions and is a published writer of prose and poetry.

Together, Catherine and Cyril have created a unique and original musical confabulation.

Janet Sclaroff

"I am my dreams!" This sums up the spirit of Janet Sclaroff. Janet is a music and movement teacher who has extended her audience from the classroom to the stage. With guitar in hand, she writes upbeat, rhythmic music that gets everyone singing, clapping, and dancing. Some of her songs are written for kids, but according to Janet's grownup fans, her music is wonderful for all ages. She is active in the Children's Music Network, Children's Entertainment Association, and NARAS, as well as being one of PASA's most frequent and genial hosts. Janet is filled with enthusiasm and idealism, and she transmits this to her audience.

Joe Petraitus

Joe Zookey Petraitus is a folksinger. His songs run the gamut of emotions. They can make you laugh, they can make you cry, or they can make you think. He has been performing for the last few years regularly at open stages including the legendary Minstral Coffeehouse Open Stage. Primarily a finger picker, Joe's songs are heavily influenced by a wide range of folk music, but also mix in Latin rhythms. Joe is a versatile and entertaining performer.
You: The fourth performer can be YOU! The first eight (or so) performers to sign up at the show will sing one original song as part of the concert. This is an extra special OPEN STAGE SHOWCASE OPPORTUNITY, so bring along any instruments you'll want to play. The first people to arrive get to sign up first. The open stage slots often fill up, so come early to get a slot.
