PASA House Concert Series

One of the longest running house concert series in the Philadelphia Area, for more than 20 years, PASA has presented its members in a true house concert setting. Since its creation by Rob Lincoln in 2000, more than 150 different performers have performed as a co-headliner.

Each concert features three PASA members as co-headliners, plus 8 to 12 "Open Chair" performers. Anyone who wants to play an original song can be an Open Chair performer. These shows are in round robin format, one song at a time and the Open Chair slots not only begin the show but also occur at the end of every round. There are usually seven rounds with an intermission in the middle.

Performers:

Steve Quelet

If you've ever been kidnapped by aliens, been chased by a carload of zombies, or spent any time in concrete overshoes, you may find yourself smack in the middle of a Steve Quelet song. Steve's songs have gained airplay and recognition in the Americana and Contemporary Folk communities for his unusual approach to both time worn and current subjects. His often powerful and humorous songs and stories create a vivid look at life's underbelly, and reveal some important lessons along the way.
Steve will be joined by Eppie Bailey for a special duo performance. Eppie, a wonderful singer-songwriter in her own right, and longtime song collaborator of Steve's is a former bandmate with the Jakob's Hollow Band. Following a long hiatus to pursue other ventures, they feel the time may be right to see if they still have the old team magic!

Rusty and Jan

Rusty & Jan are William "Rusty" Crowell and Jan Alba. Rusty is an acoustic guitar player with more than 30 years of experience who, in addition to being an excellent interpreter of folk, folk-rock, and many other genres, is a fine songwriter. Jan is a classically trained flutist. Together, they create a unique sound that is better heard than described.

Trif

Trif is a longtime fixture in the Delaware Valley with his singing, songwriting, and playing in countless area venues. Lots of PASA artists remember the Barrington CoffeeHouse, selected "Best Open Mic" for the state of New Jersey in 2009. Trif not only ran the place but was the open Mic host for 500 Thursdays in a row from 2003-2013. Trif plays many instruments, but give him an acoustic guitar and he'll sing you a story in four minutes flat. He writes with a soulful folk, often visited by jazzy blues, keeping an ear on the street. Trif's first CD was 2003's 'TRIF's Bad Side Showing'. He has produced several more since then, including 2005's 'Friends of the BCH' CD. Trif is also the drummer for Terry Rivel and the GhostRiders.
You: The fourth performer can be YOU! The first eight (or so) performers to sign up at the show will sing one original song as part of the concert. This is an extra special OPEN STAGE SHOWCASE OPPORTUNITY, so bring along any instruments you'll want to play. The first people to arrive get to sign up first. The open stage slots often fill up, so come early to get a slot.
