Marion Halliday

Marion Halliday hales from Louisville, Kentucky, where she was lead singer in the regionally acclaimed traditional Irish band My Darling Asleep. After moving to Philadelphia in 2009, Marion joined forces with Lisa Timmons, Donna Bostock, and Rosie McNamara-Jones to found The Molly Blooms, which plays a fusion of celtic, folk, and bluegrass music. The band has appeared on various local and regional stages and festivals as well as on the WXPN Folk Show several times. A few years ago, Marion, who had fallen in love with her new hometown of Philadelphia, began to write songs for the band focused on historical aspects of Philadelphia. One song, for example, tells the story of an escaped convict from Eastern State Penitentiary. Most recently, Marion has begun to focus on songwriting beyond simply Philly-based historical folks songs and is now performing some of this work on her own, as well as in a newly-formed band called Trickster Sister with her sister, Jane Halliday, a professional violinist out of Louisville, Kentucky, and Donna Bostock, a bassist in the Philadelphia area. Trickster Sister plans to begin doing studio work and performing a series of shows in Louisville, Kentucky, later this summer featuring this original material.

Michelle Miller

Michelle Miller is a singer/songwriter who has appeared all over the Philadelphia area. She has performed at venues such as the Mercer Museum Folkfest, Ambler Octoberfest, Please Touch Museum, The Keswick Theater, and schools, colleges, and libraries. Her music is a little country, a little pop, and she loves creating beautiful harmonies on her recordings. During the daytime, Michelle is a children’s librarian and presents story times five days a week. She also has created a children’s radio show called Miss Michelle’s Story Time airing on montcoradio.com every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. which incorporates her favorite stories, her original songs, and popular children’s music.

Caesar Vescera

Caesar Vescera is a South Jersey songwriter looking to explore the possibilities and stretch the envelope a bit here and there while using art to make the world a better place and make folks less likely to kick the dog. PASA members can attest that Caesar is one of the more adventuresome, energetic, unpredictable, and wildly fun songwriters to grace our open chair and we are delighted to have him in his first co-headlining role.
You: The fourth performer can be YOU! The first eight (or so) performers to sign up at the show will sing one original song as part of the concert. This is an extra special OPEN STAGE SHOWCASE OPPORTUNITY, so bring along any instruments you'll want to play. Doors open at 7. The first people to arrive get to sign up first. The open stage slots often fill up, so come early to get a slot.
