PASA House Concert Series

One of the longest running house concert series in the Philadelphia Area, for more than 20 years, PASA has presented its members in a true house concert setting. Since its creation by Rob Lincoln in 2000, more than 150 different performers have performed as a co-headliner.

Each concert features three PASA members as co-headliners, plus 8 to 12 "Open Chair" performers. Anyone who wants to play an original song can be an Open Chair performer. These shows are in round robin format, one song at a time and the Open Chair slots not only begin the show but also occur at the end of every round. There are usually seven rounds with an intermission in the middle.

He has performed at concert venues such as The Kyber, The CIMA Gatherings, Penn's Landing, The Gate, Toronto's Ambient Ping, Harrisburg's Whittaker Center, and Pittsburgh's Buhl Planetarium; and in live on-air concerts on WXPN, WPRB, WDIY, and WKDU. Bob Mecklenburger

Bob Mecklenburger has been performing with his acoustic 6- and 12-string guitars for more 40 years, singing his original songs and folk songs. His clear voice, earnest presence, and fresh song-styling are reminiscent of John Denver. His music speaks of homespun values, the beauty of nature, and the importance of being true to oneself. Accomplished at flatpicking and fingerpicking guitar styles, he highlights both on his CD, "Do It!". Bob is an active member and past president of the Princeton Folk Music Society.

Useful Rooster

Useful Rooster is comedian/musician/pizza lover Shannon DeVido and musician/vegetable-lover Nora Whittaker Jones. In the vein of They Might Be Giants, Flight of the Conchords, and Barenaked Ladies, they create quirky, off beat, thematic pop songs. Performing together in various formats since 2002, Shannon and Nora have toured Italy and the tri-state area. They enjoy watching movies and eating delicious snacks.
You: The fourth performer can be YOU! The first eight (or so) performers to sign up at the show will sing one original song as part of the concert. This is an extra special OPEN STAGE SHOWCASE OPPORTUNITY, so bring along any instruments you'll want to play. The first people to arrive get to sign up first. The open stage slots often fill up, so come early to get a slot.
